Career jump in the opticomp team
Since the beginning of February, Lukas Scharf has been managing the business operations of kdg opticomp alongside owner, Michael Hosp.
RAPID RISE TO COO. AFTER TWO YEARS AT KDG OPTICOMP, the JUST 31 YEARS OLD LUKAS SCHARF WAS CHARGED WITH THE COMMERCIAL MANAGEMENT OF KDG OPTICOMP.

He juggles components just as elegantly and adeptly as he handles quotations and flow charts. And he particularly loves to banter with his conterparts, always responding with a lightning-fast retort and a slightly mischievous smile on his face. The qualified commercial lawyer and graduate of the Höhere Technische Lehranstalt Innsbruck (Innsbruck Polytechnic) in the field of Industrial Engineering joined the company two years ago as Supply Chain Manager for the kdg opticomp team. His business acumen, which he had already demonstrated in his previous jobs in the energy sector, did not stay hidden for long, and after just one year he was wearing two hats - from then on working in both sales consultancy and settlement.

From the beginning of this year, he is taking the next step in his career. To allow kdg CEO Michael Hosp to devote more time and energy to the development and growth of the kdg campus, Lukas Scharf will be heading up the newest kdg division, which is set to make strong progress this year. The dyed-in-the-wool fitness fan (who trains every day) and mountain rescue volunteer will be making the leap up to the management floor with customary athletic ease. A piece of cake? Not quite so straightforward, perhaps, is the challenge that awaits him in a few weeks time, when the 31-year-old will become a father for the first time.
